Venezuela

Venezuela congratulates MAS and Luis Arce for the resounding electoral triumph in Bolivia This historic victory renews the hope of the Bolivian people, who are returning to the democratic path of social justice, despite the suffering and trauma imposed over the past 12 months. The massive electoral participation reinforces the legitimacy of the process and gives a clear message of popular rejection of the fascist coup d’état executed a year ago.It has been the humble men and women, the workers, the indigenous peoples, the brave youth, who have rescued the Bolivian Homeland from the hands of neoliberal imperialism. No repressive power could impose itself on the will of a free people. Maduro: Bolivia taught the world a lesson with a great victory

President Maduro instructs completion of 200 communal cities “Let’s get down to building these 200 communal cities,” emphasized the Venezuelan President, explaining that they made the proposal to “advance the Law of the Communal City that governs the organization and establishment of communal cities.” A total of 27,074 delegates throughout the national territory have participated in the National Congress of Communes 2.0.

“I am going to propose to the new National Assembly through the Great Patriotic Pole and the PSUV, that a Communal Parliament Law be approved that forces the National Parliament to consult the Communes, all projects and all the issues they have in debate for their decision ”, Maduro specified.“You imagine that the 42,500 Communal Councils, the 3,500 Communes with a Parliament, well any issue that comes up for discussion, would immediately have an echo in that Communal Parliament,” he said.

Combating the US Economic War on Venezuela – Differences in the Chavista Ranks A look at the pluses and minuses of the new The Popular Revolutionary Alternative (APR), made up of the Venezuelan CP and other organizations. The APR program stresses the importance of fortifying the communes, popular organizations, peasant movements, and production cooperatives to further advance the Bolivarian struggle. Yet, the APR fails to recognize the essential continuity in the policies of Chavez and Maduro.

Some international leftists, such as Michael Lebowitz, have distanced themselves from defending Venezuela from the US blockade in part because Venezuela’s government has not resolved problems, particularly economic ones, in a manner these leftists think they should. In a former time, aid for Venezuela would come from a socialist country like the Soviet Union. Today, mobilization of the peoples in the imperial countries to compel the ending of the blockade is a necessity.

President Maduro to the peoples of the world: ‘Together we shall overcome!’ In the election a total of 107 political parties – 98 of them in opposition and over 14,000 candidates who will compete to obtain one of the 277 parliamentary seats.

Since 2014, the United States has approved a law and 7 decrees or executive orders, as well as 300 administrative measures, which together make up a sophisticated policy of multiform aggression against Venezuela. The blockade succeeded in cutting off financing to Venezuela, preventing it from accessing the required currency to acquire food, medicine, spare parts, and essential raw materials for economic activity. During that period, Venezuela experienced the sharpest fall in its external income in all of its history, close to 99%. The US has confiscated money and assets from PDVSA, the Venezuelan State oil company, including several refineries on U.S. soil, whose worth exceeds $40 billion.

In a surprising official statement in January 2018, the U.S. State Department admitted its illegal intentions: “The pressure campaign against Venezuela is working. The financial sanctions that we have imposed have forced the Government to begin to default, both in its sovereign debt as well as that of PDVSA, its oil company. And what we are seeing (…) is a total economic collapse in Venezuela. Therefore, our policy works, our strategy works and we will maintain it.”

Biden Accuses Trump Of Strengthening Nicolás Maduro And Expelling Venezuelans Biden has said on several occasions that, if he reaches the White House, he would grant Venezuelan immigrants TPS and reverse Trump’s policies, considering that they have consolidated Maduro.

Orinoco Tribune: President Maduro Invites the Peoples of the World as Observers to the December election  During the online forum Internationalist Festival of Peoples Resistance 2020, Maduro invited the social movements and organizers to the country, to come as international observers for the parliamentary elections scheduled for December 6. “Let’s get out the truth of a people who have refused to surrender, who will never surrender and who will continue in this battle for a world without empires, for a world where we can all live together, cooperate and build,” he said.

Cuba

Johana Tablada:  USAID vs Cuba Millions of dollars are spent on manufacturing and legitimizing distortions that make irrelevant what happens in Cuba and gives prestige to what is said and believed to happen in Cuba. For Cuba, every year under the Helms Burton Act, interference programs are aimed at perpetuating the exclusion of international aid projects, and reproduction of “information” and content related to the policy of aggression against Cuba. More than $300 million of US taxpayers’ money has been wasted for these kinds of purposes in 10 years. It is an illegal and failed policy that distorts and hinders our country’s efforts on a daily basis.

Bolivia

The Grayzone: Anya Parampil interviews Ollie Vargas: How Bolivia fights fascism – It takes more than the ballot box They discuss the role of Bolivia’s social movements in overturning the coup regime that came to power in 2019, as well as the expectations of average people as the new government of Luis Arce takes power.

Fiona Edwards: China’s Rise: an Inspiration for Bolivia in the Fight Against US-Imposed Poverty and IndignityThis reality is widely understood by the left in Latin America where the difference between how the US and China interacts with countries in Latin America is obvious and profound, the former based on relationships of domination and subordination and the latter based on a relationships of cooperation and mutual benefit. China is offering Latin America a different model of international relations, based on respecting other countries’ right to determine their own affairs and “win-win” cooperation. Whereas US foreign policy is for all of humanity to subordinate itself to the interests of the US ruling class, China’s foreign policy doctrine is to build a “shared future for humankind” based on cooperation and multilateralism.

Nicaragua

Internationalist360: The New War Machine Against Nicaragua: Lies and Sanctions 1. Both the Special Law on Cyber-Crime and the Law on the Regulation of Foreign Agents represent two legal instruments in favor of strengthening Nicaragua’s National Strategy for Sovereign Defense and National Security. 2. In the face of the development of new communication and information technologies, it has been widely demonstrated that the sovereignties and information systems of States are so fragile and exposed to any cyber-attack and dissemination of false news on social networks, that they threaten not only the stability and security of States and that of their own citizens. 4. The current Law on the Regulation of Foreign Agents monitors the financing and behavior exercised by external organizations – mainly NGOs – within the national territory. The US and its allies make use of their “soft power” (media manipulation, political and economic sanctions, and financial influence) to try to bring down governments that are contrary to their interests.
